Guillermo Acosta, Dean, School of Media Studies and Information Technology, Humber College

About Guillermo Acosta

Guillermo is a seasoned manager with more than 20 years of experience in a variety of roles in marketing of wines & spirits, telecommunication services and most recently, education. Guillermo holds an undergraduate degree in business from the Universidad Católica Andrés Bello and a MBA in Marketing from the Universidad Metropolitana, both in Caracas, Venezuela. Internationally, Guillermo participated in a global re-engineering project where he redesigned marketing processes for the Americas in a joint project with the Boston Consulting Group. He also played a leadership role in redesigning the brand identity of the largest telecommunications company in Venezuela, in a project with the New York-based firm Future Brand. In his current role as Dean of the School of Media Studies & Information Technology at Humber, in addition to provide academic and managerial leadership, he oversees all the advertising, marketing and brand building strategy for the school.

David Corrigan, Director of Marketing, IBM

About David Corrigan

David Corrigan is the Director of Marketing, Analytics Group.  His primary focus is customer analytics – utilizing both data and analytics technologies to better understand the customer.  He focuses on the Distribution Sector which includes retail, consumer products and travel and transportation.  David’s background is in product strategy and marketing for both start-up companies as well as large enterprises.

From the early days of building Kobo’s channel marketing practice around the world to more recent adventures leading the brand’s transformation and creative optimization, Marianne has brought to the forefront an integrated marketing approach focused on revitalizing Kobo’s customer experience. Her previous experience agency-side (including Hill+Knowlton Strategies) and her former position leading Canada’s marketing organization for Motorola, shaped her creatively, inspiring a passion for continuous learning, collaborative process and the pursuit of customer delight.

About Brian Jackson

Brian Jackson is the Vice President of Business Solutions at Acosta Sales & Marketing, where he is focused on business intelligence in category management, trade fund & forecast management, deduction management and customer service. Prior to joining Acosta’s Senior Leadership team in 2010, he spent more than 20 years in the CPG Industry in senior roles in Hershey, Playtex, Ronzoni Foods Canada Corp. (Catelli Canada), Colgate, and Unilever. In addition to his involvement in CPG, Brian is an active member of the Board of Directors for various not for profit and charity organizations, and is a current GS1 Canada Grocery Sector Board Member.

John Pontarollo, Senior Vice President, CRH Holdings

About John Pontarollo

John Pontarollo, Senior Vice President at CRH Canada Group Inc. (formerly Holcim Canada), oversees the Ontario & Western Canada regions of one of the country’s largest vertically integrated building materials and construction companies, as well as associated assets in the Northwest and Great Lakes regions of the United States. With 3,000 employees, CRH Canada manufactures cement, aggregates and ready-mix concrete and provides construction services to many of Canada’s largest infrastructure projects.  It has a portfolio of brands, including Dufferin Aggregates, Concrete and Construction in Ontario. John is directly responsible for 1,700 employees and for driving over $700 million in revenues.

Jonathan Rosemberg, Director, Strategic Sourcing, Walmart

About Jonathan Rosemberg

Before joining Walmart Canada as the Strategic Sourcing lead for the Marketing team, Jon’s most recent engagement was with Aimia, the loyalty company that runs Aeroplan, among other programs. He also spent 4 years at Sears Canada leading procurement and cost-savings initiatives with a focus on Marketing. Before that, he was in Venezuela, where he worked with Procter & Gamble, led operations and marketing for Confecciones Paramount, a menswear manufacturer, and started a marketing consulting business. Jon has an MBA from Cornell University and Queen’s University, a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from McGill University and a post-graduate degree from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York.

Jeff Walker accepted a position with Intact Insurance in September 2012 to lead the Ontario Division’s Sales & Marketing strategy and is currently Vice President, Sales & Business Development, Ontario.  He is responsible for the marketing and communications initiatives for all lines of business within Ontario for Intact Insurance, Novex and Jevco Insurance Company. Prior to joining Intact, Jeff was the Assistant Vice President, Marketing & Business Development for Jevco Insurance Company where he was responsible for all aspects of sales, marketing & communication on a national basis.
