About Guillermo Acosta
Guillermo is a seasoned manager with more than 20 years of experience in a variety of roles in marketing of wines & spirits, telecommunication services and most recently, education. Guillermo holds an undergraduate degree in business from the Universidad Católica Andrés Bello and a MBA in Marketing from the Universidad Metropolitana, both in Caracas, Venezuela. Internationally, Guillermo participated in a global re-engineering project where he redesigned marketing processes for the Americas in a joint project with the Boston Consulting Group. He also played a leadership role in redesigning the brand identity of the largest telecommunications company in Venezuela, in a project with the New York-based firm Future Brand. In his current role as Dean of the School of Media Studies & Information Technology at Humber, in addition to provide academic and managerial leadership, he oversees all the advertising, marketing and brand building strategy for the school.

Prior to joining Acosta’s Senior Leadership team in 2010, he spent more than 20 years in the CPG Industry in senior roles in Hershey, Playtex, Ronzoni Foods Canada Corp. (Catelli Canada), Colgate, and Unilever. In addition to his involvement in CPG, Brian is an active member of the Board of Directors for various not for profit and charity organizations, and is a current GS1 Canada Grocery Sector Board Member.

He also spent 4 years at Sears Canada leading procurement and cost-savings initiatives with a focus on Marketing. Before that, he was in Venezuela, where he worked with Procter & Gamble, led operations and marketing for Confecciones Paramount, a menswear manufacturer, and started a marketing consulting business. Jon has an MBA from Cornell University and Queen’s University, a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from McGill University and a post-graduate degree from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York.
