A night of good fun, food, and entertainment! Not a bad way to spend a Thursday. This was the scene of CAMP’s 2017 Marketing Awards which took place at the TIFF Bell Lightbox on Thursday, November 9th.
On this exciting night, marketers and guest from across Canada gathered to celebrate some of the biggest and most innovative marketing campaigns from the past year. From technology, to finance, to education, the awards recognized the power of marketing and its ability to transform multiple industries.
Starting with a pre-cocktail hour at LUMA, the festivities got off to a great start. With cocktails and appetizers in hand, attendees were able to meet up with old industry friends as well as make some new ones. Nominees were also given the opportunity to speak interview-style about their nominations and their expectations for the night. All in all a good way to get the party started!
Then came the awards. With popcorn box in hand, guests were directed to the main theatre where for two hours we celebrated the power of marketing. Hosts Perry Monaco of LinkedIn and Kim Parnell of .Blank. kept us entertained and introduced each nominee and winner. From Student Marketer of the Year to Best Canadian Brand, the awards covered a variety of categories.

Throughout the awards, we were also treated to variety of entertainment and performances. From comedian Eric Johnston who reminded us about the joys of being Canadian, to magician Rayne from Jestr Events who made us believe in magic, to Julie Sun Lee who gave us solace with her violin performance during intermission. We closed with America’s Got Talent singer Sal the Voice Valentinetti who brought the spirit of Frank Sinatra to the stage. All of you helped make the night special and a success.
Finally, the show closed out with the biggest award of the night: Marketing of the Year 2017. This prestigious award went to James Connell of Root Canada whose work with Canada’s 150th celebration helped him stand out in the Canadian marketing industry over the past year.
